I sighed as Jaypaw complained some more.
"I mean, dad, gathering moss? That can wait! We could be battling, hunting, patrolling, or exploring the territory!" He complained on and on.
"Look, Jaypaw, we are going to gather moss, OK? I want no more complaints!" I meowed as I signaled to Blazepaw to hurry. And so we went on.
Jaypaw could really be a handful. I'm glad I've got Brightheart helping out. I wonder when we'll get there...
Suddenly, Blazepaw stopped dead in his tracks. "Blackbird!" He hissed under his breath.
I pricked my ears and heard, as well as scented the blackbird.
Jaypaw seemed to have picked it up, too.
"OK. Creep forward slowly, making sure thatyou don't make any noise. Keep your belly just off the ground. Then, when you are close, pounce." I whispered.
Jaypaw and Blazepaw crept forward. Blazepaw leaped at the blackbird, Jaypaw leaped above it. Blazepaw alerted it by going through some noise bushes(AN:Salal)
but Jaypaw got it as it went up.
I was astonished. I didn't think Jaypaw would catch any prey, since we were, gathering moss, as well as the fact he has not practiced, and he's blind.
"Well? Now do you see that my skill should not be wasted on moss?" Jaypaw huffed.
"Fine, we'll go do some battle training." I conceded.
Short, yes, I know. If you want longer, read something like Tales of Flame, or you could soak your head.
