DO NOT JUMP FROM THE PIER the sign read in big and worn red letters.
There was probably a reason for the sign. A meaning behind it. But right now, unless there was a shark swimming around under the pier, Parker didn't have time to worry about it. Hell, she probably wouldn't have had time to worry about it even if there were sharks under the pier.
"Guys!" With the adrenaline pumping through her system, Parker couldn't tell or care if she was yelling or not. She was yelling.
"We're right behind you. Just hang on." Eliot replied over the comm.
Behind her, some very angry, very armed muscle was catching up. The con they'd just finished worked out perfectly, until everything was said and done. She'd just gotten the diamonds and was on her way out the door when it all went to hell.
As the DO NOT JUMP FROM THE PIER got closer and clearer Parker realized the guys would not make it quite in time. She'd have jump and hide underneath it. The muscle wouldn't see her there. Backup would come before they would think to look under the pier. For now, all she had to do was make the railing in
