It was never a simple thing. She smoothed out her dress, brushed back her hair. Shivers of anticipation crawled across her skin.
Butterflies went round and round and round in her small stomach.
It was her wedding day, and in the three years since she had been awakened, she felt she hadn't matured enough. That she wasn't good enough.
And despite the fact that Kaname had told her multiple times, she still ignored his words. She looked at herself in the mirror again, then looked beyond her reflection at the maids that cowered in the corner, their young faces pleading at her to let them help.
She sighed again and shook her head, reaching down to pick up her tiara. It sparkled in the sunlight that streamed in through open windows. As she stood up and her dress moved about, she had to admit that she loved the sound it made.
It was music to her ears, and although it was calming somewhat, it made her even more nervous.
Will Kaname love it…?
She shook her head again, more furious this time. Placing the delicate crown on her pinned up hair, she mentally kicked herself in the ass and told herself to behave. Even though they were nobles, her guests could smell her nervousness. She did not want to cause a scene, and she sure didn't want to upset her husband to be.
Lowering her hands, she took one last look at herself in the full length mirror. She straightened her back, tilted up her chin and looked down at herself as if she was one of the lesser vampires she was soon to be queen of.
A slight breeze blew in from the open windows, pressing a piece of her brown locks against her cheek. She left it as it was, and instead focused on her dress.
It was white, an old fashioned strapless corset embracing her so tightly her breasts where smashed up against her chest. And not in a comfortable way. Elaborate designs made of pearls ran up and down the small top. The waist of the top pinched at her skin, and she had to train herself not to pull and tug at it. She was going to be in it an hour, maybe two at the most.
Her satin skirts bunched up at her waist, then spilled out around her like a motionless white waterfall. It was like the fall was frozen, forever iced in that position, it was so white. That was all you could compare it to. The skirt fell to her ankles, brushing, barely, the tops of her feet that were enveloped, much in the way her corset hugged her, by the most beautiful heels she had ever owned.
She took another deep breath, and then cursed when she couldn't breath. Then, finally, finally, the bride turned and walked gracefully to the door. She looked back, only once at her maids. She walked down the halls, stood at the door. And when the music stated to play, she walked, with tears filling her eyes, to her lover, her fiancé, her rock.
Flowers bloomed all over the place, vines springing from invisible cracks on the walls. Yuuki looked ahead of her, her hands clasping a bouquet of white roses that a maid had shoved into her hands. All she saw was the appraising look that Kaname was giving her.
And then she was in front of him. He took her hands into his, told her how beautiful she was, and then they said their vows.
A fiancé he was, and a husband he became. Forever Kaname and Yuuki Kuran, together, bound forever. A wonderful wedding, a wonderful life.
Xxx
I think its cheesy, but Ill leave the opinions for you. There will be no more chapters, no sequels. Was going for a five hundred word short story, but didn't make it.
