Warriors Fanfiction

A NewDawn

Prologue

Leafpool knew she had to leave. Leave Thunderclan forever. Leave her home. Or at least, what used to be her home. After the disastrous gathering where Hollyleaf had revealed her secret, Leafpool had been treated differently by not just the cats of Thunderclan, but every cat in the forest. It had been three days since Hollyleaf had died, and still Leafpool grieved for her daughter. After all, Hollyleaf was just trying to follow the warrior code and do what was right. But in the end it had cost her her life. And now there was nothing left in Thunderclan for Leafpool. Leafpool knew it was time to go.

Chapter 1

As Jayfeather exited the elders den, he caught scent of his mentor/mother near the entrance to the Thunderclan camp. He silently slipped over to where he knew the scent was coming from, and listened closely. Both Squirrelflight and Firestar's scents were there too, and Jayfeather could feel the tension in the air. "Are you sure you have to go?" asked Firestar unhappily. "Yes," replied Leafpool, her words obviously not as confident as she wanted them to sound. "If you must go," said Squirrelflight, "Please, stay safe." "I will," came Leafpool's calm reply." "Then good-bye," said Firestar. "And may Starclan light your path." "Good-bye," said Leafpool, and with that, Jayfeather's mother was gone. And then Jayfeather realized something. He now took on the responsibility of being Thunderclan's only medicine cat.

Chapter 2

Leafpool began her journey at dawn the next day. She didn't know where to go, but she did know that she couldn't go back to the old forest, for she would find nothing but the wreckage of their old home. So, she set off in the direction of the sun-drown-place. Leafpool decided to go through Windclan territory, instead of going through Shadowclan and Riverclan territory, for she knew that neither Shadowclan nor Riverclan would like to find an ex-Thunderclan cat on their territory. Leafpool entered Windclan territory silently, for although Windclan was not as hostile as Shadowclan or Riverclan, they still would not like to find her on their territory. She stayed low and kept her head down and managed to get through Windclan territory without getting into any trouble. Leafpool traveled for a long time until she reached the edge of a large Thunderpath. She saw no monsters approaching, so she began to cross. Suddenly, a huge red monster flew around a corner and straight at Leafpool. She tried to get away but the monster was approaching too fast. Suddenly Leafpool felt a searing pain in her leg, and fell to the ground. The last thing she remembered before blacking out was a large black and white animal lumbering towards her.
