You slowly blink awake, the pounding in your head like a jackhammer.
You finally wake up, and as your eyes adjust, you find your self staring into sharp, almost icy, blue eyes.
They seem to shine in excitement and that only sharpens when they notice your eyes opening.
A soft voice speaks, sounding kind and soft.
"Good morning, beautiful"
It seems to echo around you, sending an instinctive chill down your spine.
You blink again and a face slowly comes into focus.
An almost...predatory smile curves the full lips, with pearly, white shining teeth.
But...something is off.
The teeth aren't like normal teeth.
They're...slightly pointed.
Not hugely, totally razor like. It's only apparent when he smiles, or opens his mouth and keeps it open.
Fangs.

Vampire.

Vampires had become an accepted part of life since the Haemophilia Vampiris virus epidemic a few years ago took 2% of the world's population and changed their dna rapidly, altering it irrevocably.
It inserted another double helix into human dna, and any infected by it became creatures like mythological Vampires.
Beauty.
Speed.
Strength.
Thirst.
All of these, these new creatures possessed.
However, they could survive on human food and the thirst for blood, while strong, was easily quashed if they wanted to.
They could walk in sunlight, and they had reflections. However, they could not breed. Nobody had experimented with a human sand Vampire union quickly being considered too dangerous to study.
But any union between Vampires resulted in nothing. No matter how hard they tried, it just couldn't happen.
It was considered illegal for a Vampire to bite an unwilling human.
Said human was forced to think and measure the pros and cons of the transformation.
By law, vampires were allowed to feed on any animals they so pleased, as long as said animals were not owned or on a reserve.
But you hadn't agreed to transform or be food for this vampire.

Up until the age of 18, they retained aging.
But only in the growing taller and body changing form.
Their personalities became much more mature and augmented.
Their minds worked many, many times faster than any human could ever hope to be capable of.
They had perfect recall, capable of remembering perfectly anything they saw, tasted, heard, felt or smelled.
You breathed deeply, and stared again into the blue eyes which had been staring in excitement and wonder for at least 4 minutes while you panicked.
