Ragarnnok looked about him, sniffing at the air as he turned his head. There was a strange scent on the air that he couldn't place. He looked at the massive tiger sitting patiently next to him and gave the beast a gentle pat.

"I be tinkin' we needa be movin soon, ta wetter be changing" Ragarnnok said softly while petting the huge cat. The animal purred in agreement causing Ragarnnok to smile.

"C'mon gurl, let's go." The troll grasped his long bow and began trudging through the thick underbrush, pausing every so often to look around or sniff at the air. Ragarnnok could tell something wasn't right. The jungle had never been this quiet, especially during this time of year. Granted the earth quaking had gotten worse with the past year, but, to silence his home? There had to be a good reason behind it, and Ragarnnok was going to figure it out. Even if it killed him.

"Not too far now gurl, we be almost home." He spoke to his companion softly, eyeing his surroundings carefully.

*snap*

Ragarnnok stopped suddenly as did the tiger he traveled with. Ever so slightly Ragarnnok notched an arrow in his bow looking towards where the noise had sounded. The jungle was silent, the only sound coming from Kasha his tiger.

Kasha began to growl, a deep guttural sound meant to warn potential threats. Ragarnnok clicked his tongue signaling her to be silent. The last thing he needed was whatever was out there to attack them from an unseen direction, which was just asking for trouble. Feeling bold he called out:

"Who go dere? You best be showin yaself! Dun make me come aftah ya!" Ragarnnok listened again. Still there was no sound. It was as if the entire jungle was holding its breath waiting to see what happened to the troll. Ragarnnok frowned; he had heard the snap of a twig hadn't he? Surely Kasha wouldn't be in such an agitated state if it was nothing.

Almost as if in answer, a resounding crash broke the silence and calm of the jungle, and a troll berserker leapt at Ragarnnok and Kasha. Ragarnnok dove to the side to avoid the creature calling out to Kasha as he did so. Rolling as he hit the ground Ragarnnok turned to face the monster loosing arrow, after arrow into its face. With a roar Kasha joined the fray biting and clawing at the berserker.

"Kasha, watch yerself gurl! Dis be a nasty one fer sure!" Ragarnnok called out as he steadied his aim and fired for the base of the creature's skull. Ragarnnok cursed as the arrow sailed wide burrowing into the tree next to his target. The berserker turned and swung a massive fist at Ragarnnok, forcing him to leap backwards to avoid being crushed. Ragarnnok began strafing left loosing arrow after arrow aiming for the berserker's head. Kasha roared and pounced on the thing's back causing the troll to reach back for her in a desperate attempt to shake the tiger loose. Ragarnnok saw his chance and fired three arrows into the creature's throat. With a thump the berserker fell to the jungle floor, gurgling as blood filled its mouth before finally dying. Ragarnnok slumped against a tree sighing. It was going to be a long week.
