I Have Written
I wrote the words to the story
That has captivated thousands
And inspired them to great heights
My work has been made into movies, plays,
And one wildly successful musical
That in turn has inspired countless stories
But I was the first one to tell the tale
Of the unfortunate soul
Who lived far below the streets of Paris
I was the only one to pray beside
His earthly remains
And ask that he be shown mercy
But when I wrote this tale I had no idea
That it would have impacted so many different lives
Or inspire such a passion
For a man who never knew love but once in his life
A man whose spirit lives on thanks to all the people
