The Beginning of the Longest Summer

Dr. Temperance Brennan was sitting in her office working on the wrapup of her latest case.
She figured work was all she would have for now. She hadn't seen her partner of 5 years, Special Agent Seeley Booth in almost a week since they didn't have a case and now that he was dating that dastardly Dr. Klein.
He hadn't even wanted to meet her for lunch all week. He was always busy. And she knew what he was busy doing.
She almost wish she hadn't broken it off with Hacker. She wasn't really interested in him romantically but he was funny and they got along well. With Angela now back with Hodgins and Cam dating someone and Max out of town for an extended time visiting Russ and Amy she was really alone.
Meanwhile Seeley Booth had had dinner with Dr. Klein that evening and there just wasn't any magic. They had kissed and he had felt nothing.
She had understood and said, "Seeley I like you a lot but you're clearly in love with Dr. Brennan. Go to her. Go be with her. You belong together."
Booth said, "I'm sorry but you're right. But she's dating my boss, Andrew Hacker and has been for even longer than we have been dating."
Catherine said, "Actually she isn't. When I stopped by the Jeffersonian the other day I heard her tell Angela that they had broken up. I was over there because I am going to be doing some work in the marine section and was stopping by to get my security set up."
Booth was floored. He had just talked to Hacker the other day who hadn't said anything direcrly but clearly had implied that they were still dating.
But Hacker wasn't the most reliable source. He was clearly besotted with Bones and he probably was doing it to throw him off.
He thanked Catherine and was off. Catherine watched him go and decided honesty wasn't always the best policy, the guy was seriously hot and so sweet and had seemed interested but his heart belonged elsewhere.
Brennan was still working on her computer when she felt a presence before she saw him standing in her doorway.
She asked "Do we have a case? My phone didn't go off."
Booth said, WE have a case but not in the usual way. We have The Case of the Stupid Fool Special Agent"
Brennan said, "I don't know what that means."
Booth said, "It means I am a stubborn fool stupid idiot who loves you and has wated so long to tell you the truth."
She said "I know you love me in a professional attagirl way. You told me last September, remember?"
Booth said, "No I love you in this way."
And he strode over to her lifted her off the chair and kissed her in a way that left no doubt in what way he loved her.
She only stopped responding to his kisses long enough to pull apart from him and say, "Booth I love you too let me show you how much."
And they kissed again .
Screen fades to black.
