The Artifact Trilogy
Book 1
The Water Mask and the Inferno Jewel
Prologue
Long ago, in the land of Littawna there were four humans each with a different power. The first, with the power of the earth, was named Harono. The second was named Fabac and he had the power of fire. Tabuba was the third and she controlled the winds. Fourth was Derulef and water was under his control. These four were called the Carriers for the powers they carried. They used these powers to help all of Littawna with its problems.
One day though, an evil demon came to the land named Mortugi. He was a 300 foot tall beast with 50 foot long claws on his hands and feet. His head had a nasty pig and rhino like look with five horns each as big as a bull. Mortugi rampaged through Littawna destroying everything his path. The Carriers tried to stop it but could do nothing to slow its efforts.
Finally they thought up a way to bring it down. The Carriers then went back to Mortugi and fused together their powers to form an ultimate power which brought Mortugi down. The Carriers now were thinking of a way to seal the monster away forever. So they cut Mortugi apart and sealed him into four different objects. A mask, a jewel, an orb, and a staff.
To keep him sealed they each sealed one of their powers into an object. The mask was given the power of water from Derulef and became the Water Mask. The power of fire from Fabac was given to the jewel and was named the Inferno Jewel. Tabuba was to give the power of winds to the orb which was known as the Air Orb. Lastly, the staff became known as the Earth Staff from which the power of earth of Harono was given.
Each object was guarded in a separate city. A few years passed and two of the objects were lost. The Earth Staff and the Air Orb. The citizens of the cities that guarded those objects fell into a great depression after the objects were lost and they died off. Only the two others were left.
A few months after that the goblin lord Nemok rose up and went to battle with the city that guarded the Inferno Jewel. Months passed and the battle continued on. Until finally Nemok destroyed them all and took the Inferno Jewel for himself. He then transformed the city into the Empire of the Inferno Jewel. Then the city of the Water Mask was the only remaining place of true justice and renamed themselves the Land of the Water Mask. Now the two clans are at war, each wanting the others artifact. Only the Carriers spirits know when it will end.
