Author's note: This poem was written from Kris's point of view (see 'Aftermaths of the Gryffen'). It doesn't really have all that much to do with the story itself, it's basically just Kris missing Jack. I don't own Jack or Pirates of the Caribbean yatta yatta yatta I own Kris and this poem that's it. I'll be quiet now and let you read the poem.

The Fates Have a strange Sense of Humour

Every night I dream of you,

Of your touch that can quiet

The rock of the ship,

Of your embrace that can cease

The roll of the waves.

But when I open my eyes

I see only darkness.

I hear nothing but

The music of the night.

Silence.

Every waking moment

I ask myself

Would I rather have you near

And know nothing of my feelings,

Than to know I love you

Only when you're gone?

It is strange to think

My heart is so fragile

That it can shatter at the mere touch

Of a Sparrow's wing.

I'm sure the Fates are laughing

At my misfortune.

But one day

The winds of forgiveness

Will bring you back to me

And maybe then

I can once again

Appreciate the beauty

Of the sea.

But until that day

My eyes can only see grey,

My heart can only feel pain.

The Fates have a strange sense of humour.
