Matt was seventeen and on his own with Mello. They had gone off away from Wammy's House, sick and tired of being tied down.

Maybe it was the fact that Roger had always confined them to the future of being L's successor that had made Matt and Mello leave.

That day that Mello had left Matt had followed right behind him. He had gone like the loyal friend he was. No, Mail Jeevas is not a puppy dog; he prides himself on being his own entity. His own thoughts fill his head, no, they are not always of Mello, and sometimes the Jeevas boy has better things to think about.

This is Mail Jeevas beginning of a new life.

Mello was eighteen and on his own with Matt. He had gone astray from the rules he had been told to abide by his entire life, done with it all.

Matt was the only one Mello had ever really cared for. He had always gone and bullied the other children at Wammy's House. Mello wasn't as rough and tough as he seemed though.

Mello was a big softy. Every night before bed, he would cry himself to sleep. Matt would always hold him. Sometimes Mello would tell Matt he would run away one day.

Neither planned on actually going through with Mello's absurd plan one day.

This is Miheal Keehl's beginning of a new life.

The boys were now nineteen and twenty. Mello was in the mafia, and Matt worked as a top-class hacker. They had adopted a child together, bored of their sex life and willing to take up the authority of becoming parents.

The small girl went by the name of Zelda.

Matt had adored the girl from the start and begged Mello to adopt that girl. And of course, Mello had complied with a smile.

Zelda was twelve. She had long blonde hair and sparkling brown eyes. She looked more like Matt than Mello, and when she went places with her fathers, she would be mistaken for the nineteen year olds little sister.

Zelda would laugh and shake the comments off when the children at school would make fun of her for having two dads and say, "Well they'll love me more than your parents could ever love you."

And when the children would tease her for being adopted she would say, "It gives me strength."

Matt adored his daughter. He loved her with all of his heart, and Mello couldn't believe how well Matt had adapted to fatherhood.

Mello, on the other hand hadn't adapted as well as Matt had. He had been afraid of making a fatal mistake that would ruin the girls life and had stayed away from Zelda.

"What's wrong with Mello?" Zelda would ask.

"He loves you so much he's afraid of you. Does that make sense?" Matt would try to explain, to only receive a shake of the head from his child.

"He loves you so much, Zel, he's afraid to screw something up."

"But if he screws up, can't I forgive him? Because you two gave me shelter when I had only an orphanage. You two gave me love when I had none. You both gave me a future when I thought I'd be stuck in that orphanage until I turned eighteen. And for that, I am thankful."
