[[ hidden track 1: lost time prologue
You wait for him at the intersection. The streets are filled with roaring engines and chattering people, but you still feel a chill in the air, and you pull your coat tighter.
He arrives ten minutes late, and greets you with a nod. You murmur a 'good morning'. You're not supposed to go anywhere today, you think, but he still walks down the street, motioning for you to follow.
You are tall and imposing, and he has a ferocious glint in his eyes. The crowds part for the two of you. You try not to step on anyone, but you're much more worried about losing sight of him, so you do knock some people out of your way.
When the ambient noise is no longer loud enough to drown out speech, he slows to walk next to you. He gives you a significant look, and you wait for him to start talking. You know why he's here – she told you last night – and you want to hear his story.
Eventually, he sighs and runs a glove through his silvery hair. "No change, huh. Do you –" He sighs again, cracks his knuckles.
His steps become slower and more forceful. "If I could turn back the clock, go back to that time – maybe I could change things, maybe not. If I'd never met you," suddenly, he laughs, "I guess my life would have turned out really boring."
He's barely moving at all now, arms folded, staring at the ground. "The ordinary, average days, the days I rubbed my eyes red, even the darkest days…"
He stops and looks up. His brilliant blue eyes stand out sharply against his dark brown skin. "No matter what happens," he tells you, never breaking eye contact, "I won't forget them."

Hey there. My name's Mitzi, and I've been planning this fic for at least a year.
As to what it is, exactly… Since I was little, I've been making up stories to albums I own. It started as a way to pass the time on long car journeys, and evolved into the main way I create stories. About a year and a half ago, I noticed that several songs on the two albums that make up the Kagerou Project fit quite nicely with the plot of Kingdom Hearts.
At first, this fic was going to be a series of oneshots set in and around KH's canon. Then I thought about connecting the oneshots, then maybe making a chaptered fic, and wouldn't it be nice if I could fit all the songs in… Eventually, what I had was a sprawling story arc, with plot elements blatantly lifted from both its mother canons, set in a semi-original fantasy world. I think of it as a sort-of fusion fic. Since the cast is all KH, I've put it in the Kingdom Hearts category.
I've tried to write long stories before, but I always ran out of ideas and steam long before the end. Here, though? I know exactly what's going on, what the ending's gonna be, and how we're gonna get there. I plan on updating every two months, on the 15th – the full-length chapters are going to get long.
