Merlin has... Merlin has?
His servant may have thought Arthur didn't pick up the last two last words his father said, but he had. What they meant, however... well Arthur didn't have a clue.
He grabbed his cloak from the hook as he prepared for the mornings training. Merlin himself had just left to fetch his sword and shield. The King should have been running through his new strategic manoeuvres before he taught them to the men, but all he could think about were those two words.
It must have been important, or Uther wouldn't have bothered saying it at all. Arthur wanted to ask Merlin but he... well, he didn't know why he hadn't really. It was probably something stupid. Merlin has... an idea! But then what was the idea? Merlin has a new scarf? (yeah right) Or a way with words? Or a cold?
Arthur began to fasten the clasp on his cloak when a loud rip issued from it and it fell to the floor. Hadn't Arthur explicitly told Merlin that this cloak needed to be mended by today! He had council in two hours, and he needed his cloak. He didn't know what Uther thought Merlin had, but as far as Arthur was concerned all Merlin had was a death wish.
Sorry, this isn't terribly good. Just experimenting with some ideas :)
