"God..."
And oh how Sarah needed him at this present time. Flicking through the pages hectically Sarah's eyes found it difficult to follow the fast pace in which the words were appearing. The Labyrinth was growing, the story extending with what she presumed Jareth's demise as she spotted her name written a dozen times. The pounding in her chest verified her heart followed what her eyes could not, and with a screech of anger and shock Sarah threw the book to the opposite side of the room. The book slammed itself open and the pages turned without so much as wind to help. Hands clasping clumps of matted hair, Sarah attempted to control her breathing, not when everything was going so well! why now? She had been accepted into Knoxville Performing and Arts College and though socialising was largely over-rated Sarah had made friends outside of her fairytales. Persistant friends at that, constantly setting up dates and "friendly gatherings" despite her resistance to all men. All men, except - boom! Thunder rumbled outside her window, causing the house to shudder. Ever since that night with Toby being "stolen" she had grown some-what afraid of storms. As a common instinct Sarah ran to Toby's room, finding him deep asleep like he had been 2 hours before hand with no sign of Jareth or deformed rodents. A bright light flashed through out the room and Sarah held her breath. Storms were so like Jareth, both beautiful and terrifying. You have no power over me. What a load of dung that was, she still feared his return despite having defeated him. And regardless of what he did The Goblin King owned her heart, though she never spoke such idiotic declarations.

---

As impossible as it seemed, Jareth was certain the darkness had grown darker since Sarah's departure. The walls echoed his failure, and he knew the Goblin's were snickering behind his back. Not even the sound of their screams as he tortured them for mockery could calm him. No-one had ever lived trying to complete His Labyrinth, yet a mere teenage girl - no; She couldn't even be associated to the word 'mere', for she wasn't. She was unique. With beauty, courage and pride combined she was perfect to be his Queen. There were no Fae even comparable to her, and he spat in disappointment at whom ever questioned his decision. He'd be better off falling for a stubborn mortal, than a sharp tongued Fae. Jareth stared aggravated into his crystal, Sarah was leaning against the kitchen sink gulping down glasses of water, she was utterly terrified. You have every reason to be afraid, Sarah. Though, somewhere deep inside the Goblin King's pride he longed for a person who was not afraid, who could see behind the worthless facade he had created and perhaps...learn to love him
