I'm starting my Creative 100 project, which is a project of 100 stories based on prompts. They'll be a combination of drabbles, sentences, one-shots, and the like, with a variety of different subjects. I can't tell you how often I'll update, but just look for the '.000 CATEGORY, PROMPT' sign at the very beginning of every summary to figure out which number in the cycle it is.

Champagne

He never liked to admit it, but the reason why he loved champagne was because it was soft, unlike whiskey. Whiskey was harsh. Champagne was gentle, while still giving him that funny tingling feeling down his throat. Whiskey could kill. Champagne only knocked him out for a few hours. Whiskey made him stink. Champagne left a taste in his mouth that was weird, but desirable nonetheless.

That was why he found it so annoying that a well-bred lady such as Toph could possibly want to drink such a vile potion (even if she did roll around in dirt most of the time) rather than the high-class drink she was obviously exposed to as a feisty youngster, and it beyond his imagination why the Earthbender was challenging the Fire Nation soldiers to drinking contests at the same time.

Did she have any shame?

It annoyed him to no end that every time he passed by her way, she called out to him teasingly, "Sokka! Stop being suck a wimp and come over here to join us! I need new contestants! There are only four left who haven't passed out, ran to the bathroom, or made an idiot of themselves otherwise!" He gagged at the thought of her possibly beating one section of the Fire Nation's most elite soldiers without becoming the least bit drunk. And he absolutely hated how she called him a wimp! He was not a wimp! He simply appreciated the finer, more delicate things in life while still keeping his manliness.

Was that so bad?

So the fourth time she yelled at him, he placed his glass of the golden liquid down on a table and sauntered over to her. "I can so handle it," he sneered, downing three bottles of the fiery liquor.

"See? What did I tell you? Whiskey is nothing, I just prefer champagne, thank you very much!"

Toph smirked and slid over to the left, just in time to miss the disgusting flow of semi-digested food and whiskey from Sokka's mouth. She turned to the three stunned soldiers beside her.

"You see boys, if you can't take the pain, don't even try. He was weak from the girly effects of champagne," she snapped her fingers for a guard to take the Water Tribe teen away from her bare feet, "But he will soon realize that whiskey makes him strong."

She glanced at the unconscious warrior, who was getting water forced down his throat.

"Typical."
