A/N: Hello lovelies! I'm sorry this isn't an update to a story I'm currently working on. This is a one-shot of Lily Luna's sorting. I hope you enjoy it. This may turn into a multi-fic, if people are interested. As for now, enjoy!
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Lily Luna Potter sat stunned as the word "Hufflepuff" rang through the Great Hall. Hufflepuff? Her entire family had been in Gryffindor. Her dad, mom, and both her brothers, despite the bets that Al would end up in Slytherin. Even all her aunts and uncles were Gryffindors, minus Aunt Fleur, who didn't attend Hogwarts. Everyone.
Except Teddy, she thought. Teddy, her brother, who wasn't actually her brother. He was her dad's godson. His parents, Remus and Tonks, died in the second war. Her dad raised him, along with his grandmother, Grandma Tonks. Teddy was in Hufflepuff. Teddy, who was kind, and always played with her when she wanted him to. Teddy, who punched James for scaring her. Teddy, who taught her how to fly when her cousins and brothers wanted her to stay behind. Teddy, the blue haired boy with a yellow heart, all fairness and loyalty. Teddy was a Hufflepuff. She decided, pulling the Sorting Hat from her head and jumping down from the stool, that being in Hufflepuff was exactly where she wanted to be.
The table full of yellow and black stood up, clapping hard and cheering for their new housemate. Lily joyfully joined them, her scarlett hair flying behind her in her eagerness, her robes billowing around her skinny legs. She shook her hair back as she at down with some other first years and watched the rest of the sorting ceremony. When her cousin, Hugo Weasley, was called, her attention piqued. She halfway hoped that he would join her in Hufflepuff, but she knew it was a futile wish. He was a Weasley, and all Weasley's were Gryffindors. Even Rose, whom everyone thought would be in Ravenclaw. She watched attentively as Hugo sat on the stool and the hat was placed on his head.
"Gryffindor!" the hat called out. Thunderous applause rang through the hall as the Gryffindors made noise for their new housemate. Hugo smiled at her as he passed by. She smiled back, and then turned her head to the Gryffindor table, watching as her brothers and cousins congratulated him. Al looked up at her, his smile wavering. She smiled at him, letting him know she was alright. He nodded and smiled brightly before breaking eye contact with her. She turned her head back to the table and focused on the conversations going on around her. She didn't know what was in store for her, but she knew that she was right where she needed to be, and she knew she couldn't ask for anything more.
Just like Teddy, she thought, happily.
