"Hey, Kuro-chu?"
"Don't call me that," Kurogane growled without looking up. There was a short pause.
"Hey, Kuro-taco?"
"I'm not even answering to that."
"Kuro-cakes? Kuro-bear? Kuro-tamma? Kuro-chan? Kuro-kitty? Kuro-"
"WHAT?" Kurogane roared, slamming down the newspaper and glaring at Fai. Fai giggled. "What the hell do you want, idiot?"
"Do you think there's a heaven?"
Kurogane blanched. The question caught him so off guard that he forgot he was annoyed.
"I- well… It's- it's difficult to say, Fai. I don't think anyone knows for sure."
"I know," said Fai, laughing, "but what do you think?"
"Well… um… uh…" Kurogane stuttered. He had never really thought about it before.
"I think there is," Fai informed him. Kurogane blinked in surprise. He hesitated.
"… Think I'll get in?"
"Yeah."
"Promise?"
"Yeah," said Fai, smiling. He leaned across the table and pecked Kurogane on the cheek, then went back to eating his breakfast like nothing had happened.
