This is really short and pointless. I just wrote it to busy myself. You may not like the ending. Oh well. Flames are welcome.

The Surprise That Wasn't Really A Surprise

Diana crept slowly down the hallway of the living quarters in the watchtower. She knocked softly on Wally's door. He opened it with a face full of excitement and anticipation.

"Where is he?" Wally whispered, closing the door behind him.

"In the monitor womb," Diana replied quietly. "Let's go."

The pair continued stealthily to the next door. Clark opened his door with a loud yawn that was quickly hushed by Diana. At the same time, Wally had put his finger to his mouth.

"Soooooooory," Clark huffed, but in a low voice. He joined the queue as they moved on to door number three.

John had left the door ajar. He obviously couldn't wait for Diana to alert him. He practically jumped out of the room before her hand got to knock at the door.

"What time is it?" He asked in a hushed voice.

"Almost midnight," Wally replied, pressing the light button on his digital watch.

With the intended superheroes assembled, Diana did not knock on anymore of the League's rooms. The four quietly tiptoed down the hallway. Everything was going good until there was a loud crash behind Diana, the leader of the line.

White-faced, she turned around to face the guys. They were white in the face too. Wally held up some broken glass that used to be a picture hanging on the wall.

"I just brushed against it...I didn't see it," he protested in a whisper.

"Maybe he didn't hear it," Clark murmured hopefully.

"I may not have super-hearing, but I could've sworn that was glass that broke," said a voice behind Diana. She knew who it was without turning around, and her head drooped sadly, as she slowly faced him.

He stood tall, complete with a cape, cowl, and gleaming bat symbol.

"What's going on?" Batman asked, narrowing his eyes.

At that moment, the chime that indicated that it was midnight sounded on Wally's watch. Diana held up the cupcake that she was carrying.

"Happy Birthday," she smiled.
