FOR RICHARD, WHO IS A REAL ICICLE…
She was always my favourite, you know. Always.
From the moment I saw her at the academy, I knew she was special, destined to be something more. The potential lurking inside of that child was far too much to be wasted, and I wanted to harness it for the greater good, to harness her for the greater good.
My good.
You see… I knew what power she possessed, and I'm not only talking about her capabilities as a shinigami. Granted, she was talented, very much so, but what I mean is another talent that very few people in these times have – and with good reason. Little Hinamori Momo trusted me implicitly. It's true – she would do whatever I asked of her, whatever I told her to, without questioning me. Who wouldn't want to use that power to their advantage? Think about it – if it hadn't been me, it would have been someone else.
I knew I could bend her to my will, to dominate her, and she would act unhesitatingly – a perfect soldier in my war against Soul Society.
I suppose you could say I chose her. In a way I did – I was the one who requested she be drafted into my division, the one who suggested – with just the right amount of pressure on just the right people – that she be promoted to lieutenant. She worshipped me, and would have done anything to make me happy.
I liked that.
As I said, she was always my favourite. Always.
In fact, you could say she would have died for me. Why else do you think I killed her?
The answer is simple – I loved her to death.
