Jackson is my original character, but I don't own CSI
No real spoilers for Angle Of Attack, and I know the episode originally aired in the U.S. in the fall. But I thought this story would be cool to go along with it. I thought about how my nephew and I tried to fly a kite when he was younger, and I thought it would be cool for Greg and Jackson as well. Here's what I came up with. Hope you enjoy...and pretty please review!
And Happy Easter! :)
All Greg told his friends at the lab was to meet him and Jackson at the park in about an hour. He told Barbara to bring D.B. and Charlie, and he'd pick Jackson up from school after he ran an errand. When Morgan asked what Greg was up to, he'd simply smile and say, "you'll see!"
An hour later, everyone arrived at the park. Barbara and Charlie helped Greg get something out of his car as D.B. and Nick walked up. Jackson happily greeted his aunts and uncles. "Any idea what your dad's planning, big guy?" Nick asked.
Jackson giggled and Greg smiled. "After the case we just had, I thought it would be cool for Jacks to try flying," Greg said.
"Come on!" Jackson said as he pulled Nick and Morgan into the park.
As they followed, they saw Charlie holding a kite. D.B. and Nick chuckled as Jackson and Greg took the string of the kite. "Come on!" Jackson called as he waved his CSI family over.
"You ready?" Charlie asked.
Greg gave Jackson the kite string. "Hold on, Jacks."
"Ready!" Jackson said.
Charlie let go and the kite sailed up into the sky. Jackson watched in wonder as the kite climbed up. "Wow! Lookit, daddy! It flying!"
"Yeah," Greg said with a warm smile. He loved seeing the happiness and wonder in his son's face.
Morgan smiled as she watched her husband and son. "So how do you like flying, sweet pea?"
"Mama, lookit!" Jackson happily said. "It way up there!"
"Yeah," Greg said with a smile.
"Hold onto it, Jackson," D.B. said with a smile. "You know, Charlie used to love to fly kites when he was about your size."
"I remember," Charlie said. "Mine usually ended up in a tree."
"Uh-oh!" Jackson said as the kite drifted towards a tree. He tugged on the string and the kite sailed up.
"You got it, Jacks," Greg said. "You're doing great!"
"It up high, daddy! Look how high it is!" Jackson couldn't stop smiling.
Nick knelt beside Jackson and Greg. "Looks like you're really flying, big guy."
"Yeah! I flying!"
Greg smiled as his son flew the kite. "I figured you guys would like this, especially after the case we just closed."
"Cause this is the only way to fly," D.B. said. "Right Jackson?"
"Yeah! We flying!"
The End.
