A/N: This is in honor of Zolo's birthday. I wrote it last month and I'm actually remembering to get it up in time! Yay!
Gasping, Zolo glanced around the room, eyes sweeping the shadows to confirm. Nothing there. The room was the same as always.
Zolo sighed as he lay back down, jumping slightly at a loud snore from Usopp. This is pathetic; nightmares aren't real! "But they feel real!" Zolo growled and rolled over.
"Zolo?"
Zolo rolled back to look at his captain. Luffy was rubbing his eyes sleepily, but his concern still showed through.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, just a dream," mumbled Zolo, his gaze faltering. It felt so real!
His gaze shot back up at the sound of feet padding across the floor. "Luffy?"
The younger had pulled back Zolo's covers and crawled in next to him. Wrapping himself around his friend, Luffy sighed contentedly. "Don't worry, I'll protect you."
Zolo blinked down at the teen snuggling into his chest. On any other night, he probably would have fought Luffy on this, useless as it would be, but tonight…
Shivering slightly at the memory, Zolo shifter to accommodate Luffy's presence. Luffy mumbled a half-hearted protest and held on tighter. Zolo sighed and hugged his captain. He'd pay for this in the morning, but riht now he was just glad he had his friend. Zolo closed his eyes as sleep slipped back to claim him.
"Thanks Luffy."

A/N: Yeah, a little sap…ok, much sap, but this came from my own nightmare, and the inability to go to anyone about it because all you get in my family is an "I told you it'd scare you!". /sigh/ Oh well…
