Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter
Lilly wakes up in her dorm, and finds a note and a bottle next to her bed. The bottle is filled with a silvery blue semi-liquid looking substance. The note reads:
Hey, Lilly! We took advantage of the fact that you went to bed early to accomplish our Master Plan, which we have been planning for a while now. Don't be too mad at us! Just drink the memory in the bottle next to you (we doubt you'll ever want to relive it, so no pensieve necessary), and try find it in your heart not to kill us!
Your interfering best friends,
Marlene and Alice
Lilly groaned. Why did they love to play games with her? A sense of uneasiness was brewing in the pit of her stomach, but she steeled herself and drank the potion. Her vision blacked out for a moment, then she found herself in her dormitory, staring at her meddlesome best mates.
"Hello again, Lils. We have decided to take your attitude to a certain James Potter into our own hands, as you may have guessed by the polyjuice potion in my hands. Slughorn should really guard his backup potions better!" The memory-Marlene said.
"The following is what happened yesterday as soon as you conked out, at about six o'clock. Alice has volunteered herself for the task, as you already hate me too much!" Marlene said, winking.
Alice dropped a few red strands of hair into the potion, which turned a lovely shade of emerald. "Sorry Lils, but it's for your own good!" Alice said, then she took a gulp of the potion with a grimace. Her skin became to bubble and boil, her features rearranging themselves and her hair growing longer and turning red. She grew a few inches. She looked exactly like Lilly now.
"Bye Alice, have fun!" Marlene called as Alice exited the dorm. She entered the common room, looking for a head of messy black hair.
"James, can we talk? I need to tell you something," Alice said.
"Sure Lilly, do you want to talk here or somewhere more private?" James asked.
"The astronomy tower, maybe?"
"Sure."
They reached the astronomy tower and looked out of the window at the beautiful stars.
"James, I know that it's already Thursday and you might have plans, but do you want to go to Hogsmeade with me on Saturday?
"YES YES YES! Oh, er, I mean, sure thing," James said, trying to be smooth to make up for his outburst.
"I hoped you would react that way," she said with a slight laugh."
The memory ended there. Lilly didn't know what to do. On the one hand, she was mad at her friends for stepping into her business… but on the other hand, she had come to fancy James a little once she got to know him. He was rather sweet. Which didn't mean she wasn't mad at her friends, but… she was grateful too. And relieved. She had been too embarrassed to ask him herself, even though she sort of did? Lilly Evans on a date with James Potter... when the rest of Hogwarts found out, there would be a lot of shock, a lot of rejoicing and a lot of money changing hands.
