Here is just a short one-shot that I wrote a while ago, just thought I'd share it.
Silently it lays, embedded into the forest floor. Green moss slowly growing on the smooth surface, stone slowly eroding into the soil. Hidden by a cover of thick trees and lush bushes.
Somewhere in the woods, waiting.
Slowly time goes on. Still remaining in the same spot, hand outstretched, eye glaring. A reminder of a triumphant defeat. A victory which would long be remembered. Untouched by native fauna.
Somewhere in the woods, waiting.
Years of weather do nothing to change it's appearance. The bow tie, still straight. A single top hat, right atop the apex. Face, still staring into the darkness of the trees.
Somewhere in the woods, waiting.
Legends are passed throughout generations. Strange words of warning. Of an apocalypse. A reason to read the fine print. Weird tales of the past. Soon, the truth is bent. Until it becomes myth, make believe. But yet it remains.
Somewhere in the woods, waiting.
Children are told by caregivers to watch out for the statue, to stay away from it. Slowly rumours are passed around. Those who sleep near it suffer terrible nightmares. The statue can help you for someone in return. Some even say that the statue feels eerily alive. Anyone with common sense would not purposefully visit it. But, yet, not everyone is that smart. Through all the years it waits for that one senseless person.
Somewhere in the woods, waiting.
Patiently it plots. Stripped of power, of control. Searching for an opportunity. For a lone soul to wonder into the mass of tall pine trees. Forget to heed the warnings. To discover a hidden plain. Stumble across a certain triangle. Wish things could change. Shake a hand. Make a deal.
Until that day, it will dream for revenge. To make all four of them pay. To punish the Pines family. To make them regret the day they messed with Bill Cipher. Up to that day, he will remain stuck in his physical form. Hands reaching out, to seal the deal that brought his demise. A mere statue.
Somewhere in the woods, waiting.
