The hallway was dark, and looked like it went on forever, making it very unsettling to look at. Lucas tucked back into the room, fiddling anxiously with his shirt. What in the world was he going to do, trapped in this frightening house alone? And yet, how wa he going to survive in here without figuring that out? Lucas gave a sigh, and looked out the hallway again; it was taunting him with how scary it was. Lip nervously in his mouth, Lucas loosed a little energy at his finger tips, thankful for even the faintest of light it provided as he slowly made his way forward.
It was a long while before Lucas found a door, and even though nothing had happened, the boy was on a knife's edge; breathing uneavenly, he nudged the door ever so slightly open.
"Neeah!" he squeaked, covering his eyes and sending a PSI blast into the room as the door creaked in it's movement. The sound of things falling to the floor and clattering about the room froze the boy in his position for a few moments more, until a a great silence brought him to peek into the room, and finally relax just a tad. It was a library, albeit now a very messy library thanks to Lucas' jumpiness; books lay astrewn and scattered, and a table and shelf toppled, but all in all the room looked to have once been warm and inviting. The chairs still even retained their comfy cushioning, despite the dusty and worn appearecne, and a fire place sat in the center of the wall across fromt eh door, seeming somewhat proud as it pulled the decore of the room together. Feeling an unexplained chill, Lucas gave the fireplace a PK Fire, and the warm light filled the room with a lively glow. It was much less frightening now, so Lucas entered the room, picking up the mess he'd made out of impulse. He noted that the book were on a great many and varied subjects, and not all of them he could read or understand as he dusted them off and replaced them in their assumed proper place on the shelf. One title, though caught his attention as he picked it up, and Lucas sat down with it next to the fire.
"'A House's Occupant'?" Lucas read aloud, dusting off the cover to be sure. That was indeed the title, and the green of the cover against the faded, but still visible, white lettering reminded him of something, but Lucas wasn't quite sure who. Regardless, his curiousity was past the point of no return; pulling the chair closer to the fire and curling up, Lucas poened the cover and began to read.
