Lucy took the job because she thought it'd be interesting. She hadn't expected her team to show up. She really didn't need them. She was just creating a garden. She had it all planned out. She was going to summon Virgo to dig the holes and Plue to help her plant the flowers. However, now she was trying to do that as well as babysit Natsu and Happy who were just goofing off. Natsu had almost incinerated her roses when he got pricked by one of the thorns. Her job was emnot/em going well. Lucy surveyed the land around her. She just had a little more to do before going up the hill to fill her watering can to water the plants. Maybe she could kill two birds with one stone.
"Happy, can you go fill this with water for the plants?" she asked the exceed.
"Aye, Sir!" he replied as he picked up two watering cans and flew up to the well. He filled the can with water and tried to take off again, but it was too heavy and awkward for him to fly with.
"Hey, Natsu, can you help me with this?" he asked.
"Sure, little buddy, just give me a sec," Natsu replied as he emptied the wheelbarrow of the last few flowers for Lucy to plant. He was going to leave it there, but then he had an idea. He pushed the wheelbarrow up the hill and put the watering cans in it. He went to go push it down the hill, but it kept gaining speed, causing him let go as motion sickness hit him. He let go as it went sailing down the hill.
Lucy heard a rattling sound and looked up just in time to see the wheelbarrow hurtling down the hill. The wheel got caught on a rock, sending the watering cans flying towards Lucy as she was frozen in shock. Right before the watering cans were about to hit her, she felt a weight hit her and knock her to the ground. When she opened her eyes, pink filled her vision. Natsu was crushing her into the ground. Lucy cleared her throat.
"L-lucy, are you okay?" Natsu asked as he leaned up on his elbows to take some of his weight off her. Lucy didn't know for sure, but she thought he was blushing.
"I'm fine. What happened?" she asked with confusion, "I mean, one second I'm gardening, and the next I'm being attacked by watering cans."
Natsu nervously laughed as he got up and scratched the back of his neck. "That's a funny story…" He held his hand out for her. She took it and he pulled her up with a gentle force that caused her to knock into him. His hands went to her waist to steady her.
"You liiiiiiiiike each other," Happy's voice called out, ruining the moment. Natsu blushed as he let go of Lucy. They finished the rest of the garden without incident, but that night Lucy still wondered if maybe, just maybe, Happy was right.
