It feels as if that's all he's been hearing. I'm sorry, I cannot fight with you anymore. Sorry for not being strong enough. Sorry for not making it. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
Still, he smiles. Puts his faith in his team because that's what teammates (friends) do, and he waits for them. He believes in them, trusts them to come back and play with him again, because that's his (their) soccer, and that, at least, cannot be taken away from him.
So he waits, and trains, and practices, meets new people but never forgets. Never forgets. He plays soccer with the feelings of those who can't, of those who left. Because that is what he does, what he can do, until they decide they are strong enough to play again.
He'll just have to be strong for them until then.
A/N: Because Endou-kun is probably the best captain that could ever be. Just started watching I-11 and I never want to let it go.
