"I'm telling you it's the most real thing I've felt in my entire life… I love you Damon… I love you." She admitted.
"Look, I'm gonna get this cure for you, and I'm gonna have to do things you're not gonna like" Damon said.
"Damon" Elena started.
Damon continued "But listen carefully, get in your car, right now, and come to me"
"I'll be there soon." She replied with a smile.
Damon hung up and looked up at the stars. She loves me. She loves me.
He stayed just staring up at the stars until he saw headlights flashing through the trees. Elena got out of the car and spotted him. They both started running toward each other, with tears in their eyes.
When they collided, Damon picked Elena up and kissed her. Her hands grabbed fistfuls of his hair, and her legs wrapped around him. He stumbled backwards with her until his back hit the tree behind them.
Their lips moved together in sync. Their bodies fitted together perfectly. They were meant to be, Damon knew it.
Then he remembered the sire bond and put her down. He felt like he was taking advantage.
Elena pouted, which Damon found so adorable he had to kiss her again, just quickly. He kissed her nose which made Elena giggle, and he said, "So you fancy some ice cream?"
She nodded and they walked inside, hand in hand. Together. And at that moment, everything felt right. He knew she was safe, and that was all that mattered. It's all that would ever matter to him.
