AN: Here I go again. Sorry if my story isn't up to par, I'm currently lending my Nadia Stafford books to a friend, so I have to go by memory. I really want to do scenes from the books from Jack's point of view, but I have to wait! Reviewing is appreciated, but not necessary. Enjoy!
Never in his lifetime did he think he'd be here, standing in front of a towering pyramid with her.
Oh they talked about it, sure, but he never thought she would actually be interested in going with him.
Egypt really was more than just sand in places that shall remain unnamed. It was beautiful, exotic, and diverse. To think he almost didn't want to come here… yet he did, for her.
And that's what scared him.
No one has ever had that much influence over him, (except for Evelyn but that was a completely different kind of power) and it was new.
He knew he had strong feelings for her, feelings that were almost too tangled together to sort out, but perhaps it was better that way. Ignorance is bliss as the saying goes.
As he looked out across the Egyptian desert, he thought about his future, if you could call it that. He wondered if he could simply stand aside and watch Quinn and Nadia pursue a romantic relationship. He originally thought he could, but lately he'd been questioning whether he could deal with it or not. Guess there was only one way to find out, to wait.
He turned his head to see her looking at him with her hazel orbs. Their eyes caught and something he couldn't describe ran through him, a current of some sort. Slowly, imperceptibly, they began to lean toward one another, lost in their own little world under the large full, Egyptian moon. Their lips were just centimeters apart and then…
His eyes opened.
Damn, he thought as his head thunked back against his pillow, his heart racing. Just another dream.
