For Nina (lame lame and lamer)
Because you are wonderful and I wanted to give you something amazing and awesome so I really hope you enjoy it!
You deserve it, you happy Nuna lover!
Er, this was my first time writing Nuna. Or Neville. Or Luna.
But I hope you enjoy it! :D
I don't own Harry Potter. (Duh.)
It was a cold day in the February of the following year. The wind blew harshly across the deserted landscape, trees were roughly pushed left and right as the winds howled past. Hogwarts students huddled together if they braved the trek from the Herbology Greenhouses to the warm welcoming embrace of the Great Hall, as it was lunch time.
"The Nargles are flying all around your head, Neville. Perhaps the Wracklespurts attracted them?"
All except for some of the more… eccentric people of Hogwarts stayed outside and by the lakeside also.
Neville Longbottom laughed at his girlfriend's suggestion, smiling as he glanced from her large blue eyes to the thrashing currents of the lake, paying no attention to the roaring wind or misty air surrounding the duo. Luna Lovegood tilted her head to the side as she stared at the chuckling man; a small smile gracing the seventeen year old girl's face. "It's almost breeding season for the Wracklespurts. Did you know that?"
Despite the oddities that was Luna and her father, Neville couldn't imagine his life without the two of them. "Really?" the sandy haired boy asked curiously. "I thought it was around April and May when they started breeding." The blonde haired girl hummed as she picked at the grass under their feet, absentmindedly twirling the pieces of grass into knots before placing them back on the ground. "Oh yes, usually. This year with no foul force keeping them away, the Wracklespurts decided to begin breeding early. Daddy's publishing it in the Quibbler."
Neville nodded to show he understood, and the two of them fell into a companionable silence, the Longbottom heir fidgeting with something in his pocket. Luna remained oblivious as she poked the water's edge with her toes, despite Neville's warnings she could freeze her toes off in the cold. The girl hummed once again before sitting back down, putting on her shoes at the boy's request.
The brown eyed boy once again started playing with the small thing in his pocket, making Luna turn to look at him. "The Nargles are thicker around you," She noted scientifically. "Are you worried about something?"
Sometimes Neville wished his girlfriend wasn't so perspective, although that was one thing that made him love her even more deeply when concern passed over her usually dreamy face. How he loved every part of her.
"I…er…" The usually quiet boy blushed as he tried to muster up all of his Gryffindor courage, the same courage that made him able to take down Nagini.
Luna stood up and offered Neville her hand, which he gratefully accepted. When the two of them were standing up, Neville finally took out the small black box from his pocket, giving an adoring smile at the unsurprised Ravenclaw.
"Luna, will you marry me?"
The blonde smiled as she nodded. "Of course, Neville."
