"Irony. Many people on Arrakis are viewing Muad'dib as a man whose very presence is ironic. What causes this belief is beyond my comprehension, but to my knowledge, there is always some word or phrase that can better describe a situation than 'ironic'. Since this is the case, there truly is no need for the word 'ironic'. The situation of Muad'dib being the Fremen's Mahdi may be called ironic for a number or reasons, but in processing these reasons, I have found that each one can be described differently. Of course, to get to the point, Muad'dib is not one to make things simpler, though he may sometimes make his intentions seem thus. The example of irony is just one. Of course irony is a widely recognized word and for the most part a recognized meaning, but if one were trying to make things better for a people, wouldn't that person make it so that everyone can understand and agree? Of course this goes back to Muad'dib being a complicated person. Why then am I arguing with myself over something that I hold no power over? Even if Muad'dib could take away irony, which I doubt, people would still recognize it; it is forever in our minds. This makes my argument a lost cause. You cannot prove something that will never be proven. You cannot prove something that never happened and likely never will. There is no point. Yet, like me, there are people everywhere who argue for the sake of argument. Perhaps this is ironic?
