It was the night Christine was shot. Erik urged his son to seek for help while he held the love of his life.
A few of the carnie workers held Meg and took her away along with her mother. Raoul fled before anyone could see him. The carnival doctor arrived and with the help of two men, rushed Christine to the Phantom's room.
Erik demanded Raoul to depart that night and told him he would send Christine's body to Paris as soon as he and his son gave their proper goodbyes. Raoul complied and Meg was incarcerated.
News spread quickly through France, the diva has died. The Phantom himself went to Paris and gave burial to Christine. When everything had finished, he went back to Coney island only to see Christine almost recovered. The workers hid her at his request and kept the secret of her living. To the world, she was dead.
They decided to move further north as soon as she was fully recovered, as they desired to have a peaceful life as a family.
"Paris, 1917"
Christine died from an illness she couldn't recover. Erik and Gustave decided to burry her in Paris. They replaced her body and gave their goodbyes.
The Phantom left a rose with Christine's first ring attached to it at the gravestone. A few hours later Raoul came to visit, as he regularly did when the guilt couldn't let him at peace. He had lost a son and a wife many years ago.
He noticed the rose and the ring attached to it. In a moment he understood, Christine was alive all those years and now she was finally there.
The phantom's final trick was completed.
