May Lin, here's what I promised you. (: I know you read it already, but haha. broken!SungminxSkye, like I promised.
Disclaimer: Skye is co-owned. Sungmin is locked up in my closet. (kidding)
When you're gone;
Sungmin watched as the letter curled, slowly being devoured by the dying flames, until there was nothing left of it but a bitter memory. Sungmin blinked once, twice. And then with a small cry of regret, he lunged forward and ran his fingers through the ashes in the fireplace, as if that would somehow magically fix the letter.
He had no idea why he had thrown the letter into the fire without even opening it. Maybe he was just afraid that he would see things in there that he didn't want to. He was afraid she had moved on.
Because despite all those things he had said about her, he still loved her.
He missed the way she would kiss his nose to wake him up in the morning; the way she glared and pouted when she accidentally set something else on fire, even the way she would shriek "SUNNY BUNNY!" whenever she saw her sister. He missed everything about her, both her strengths and weaknesses.
He remembered when he first met her. She had been crying so hard, but Sungmin's first thought was that she was beautiful. Skye Azure. The name left a bittersweet taste in the boy's mouth. Trembling slightly due to the oncoming tears, Sungmin licked his dry lips.
Maybe he was at fault for her sudden departure. She didn't say anything, all Sungmin remembered was that one morning he woke up and she was gone, leaving only a tear-stained letter saying that they could never be together, and that she never loved him. They were all lies, weren't they? Skye loved him.
Sungmin laughed, even though there was nothing to laugh about. Skye loved him. She didn't love him, she loved him. Whatever love they had between them was history.
Skye was gone, and she took Sungmin's heart with her.
The pieces of my heart are missing you.
I'm such a sucker for sad endings. (:
