Never Leave Your Side
by Anya Aldaine
"Mafuyu...?"
Startled by Kirie's sudden words, Mafuyu jumped a bit, then turned to look up at her. "Yes?"
The Rope Shrine Maiden looked down with a look of repent. "Your sister... she's going to be lonely. Why did you choose to stay with me, rather than leave?"
Mafuyu thought the question to be rather sudden, and wasn't quite sure how to answer. He just started back at the maiden, whom he thought to be quite beautiful. What a shame for her fate to have to be like this, he thought.
Kirie looked at him, curiosity mixed with a bit of confusion in her eyes. "Well? I would really like to know."
"You see," Mafuyu said, with a bit of sadness in his voice, "I read notes left around the mansion, your diary, things like that. All the horrible things they put you through. Also, there was that man. The one you loved so much. I... remind you of him, do I not?"
Looking at the ground, Kirie sighed sadly, "Yes, you do."
Mafuyu smiled at her. "Kirie, think about it. Do you think my coming here was a mistake? Fate brough me here, brought me to your side."
"Ah... I see. I'm sorry to have troubled you with all this."
"Don't worry about it," he said with a warm smile, "this was meant to happen."
"Mafuyu..."
"Hm?"
"Thank you so much. For everything."
A smile formed on his face again. "You shouldn't be thanking me, Miku was the one who truly fixed everything."
"I love you..."
"I love you too, and I'll never leave your side."
