" You're… back…." Edward whispered.
The younger alchemist dashed to the door and hugged the older man tightly.
" Roy… You're back… Thank goodness…" Edward mumbled into the military jacket.
Edward felt Roy wrapped his arms around his waist.
" I'm sorry, Ed… I'm tired… And I need a shower…" Roy muttered. He pulled away from Edward and smiled tiredly. Edward watched as Roy walked up the stairs quietly. Suddenly, as Edward stared at Roy's back view, the man looked so much older.
Deep in thought, Edward jumped when the phone rang.
" Nii-san…?"
" Al…? Is that you?"
" Yeah. Is Roy-san back?"
" Yeah. He came back a few minutes earlier. I'm so glad, Al."
" Me too, Nii-san. Ano… Hawkeye-san called me earlier…"
" …What is it, Al?"
" She said… Falman-san and Kain-san… died in the war."
" What…?"
" Nii-san…"
" Al… I… I gotta go. I'll call you back later. Tell Winry I said hi."
Edward replaced the phone and dashed up the stairs. Quietly, he opened the bathroom door and stepped in. Despite the sound of the shower running, Edward still heard the sound of something hitting against the wall. Tears welled up in the younger alchemist's eyes at the sight.
Fist hit against the wall repeatedly in anger and frustration and his head faced the ground of the shower floor. And Edward knew that tears were falling from the man's eyes.
Edward walked slowly towards the man and hugged him gently from behind.
" Enough…"
Roy's head snapped up.
" It's enough already…"
Edward's tears stared to fall.
" Please… don't hurt anymore…"
And for the longest time, the two most respected alchemists cried.
