I'm not dead yet. Sorry for the long wait, I've been busy with school. Hopefully, I'll be able to write some more stories before the end of the year. It just depends when I get the time.

"Do you love me?" the green-furred bear asked the red porcupine with white flakes in her hair. They sat in a red booth with a pristine white table in Russell's pirate-themed restaurant. Cuddles and Giggles sat in a booth across from them while Petunia felt with a drunk and flirtatious Disco Bear by the bar. Mime kept looking at Nutty devouring various candies as they sat at a table near the bar. Russell was in the back, preparing fish and burgers for everyone.

"Um, yeah. I don't know why you have to ask that Flippy," Flaky said. She had to divert this conversation. She knew it'd make her uncomfortable.

"You're dodging the question Flakes," he said.

"I just answered it." Why was he like this sometimes? It seemed like he always needed reassurance from her that she loved him very much and didn't want any other man than him, even if they were sane.

Their waiter, Toothy, came over with their drinks, coffee for Flippy, and water for Flaky. "What do you guys want to eat?" he asked.

"Could I just have a salad please?" Flaky said. She knew the conversation that was bound to happen would ruin her appetite.

"Sure. And you Flippy?"

"I'll just have a burger, thanks."

Toothy went away to get their orders. Flippy stared at Flaky for a while, letting the silence simmer between them. "How long have we been together anyway?" he asked after a few minutes.

"You know that Flippy. We've been dating for about a year now. Why do you keep asking these questions? You already know what my answer is going to be."

"Sorry Flakes," Flippy said, looking a bit hurt at Flaky's forwardness. He knew she was as sweet as an angel, but sometimes her naivety got the best of her and she would hurt people without knowing. "Look, I'm just concerned that's all. You know, about him."

Of course, he was concerned about his other side. Flaky sighed. "You can't control him. I understand that. Flippy, I haven't left because of him. What makes you think I would now?"

She had a point. Most of the girls he had tried dating before had left him after they found out about Fliqpy. They couldn't understand that he had something wrong with him; he hadn't been the same since the war. And yet, Flaky had stayed. It was ironic. The scared little porcupine that jumped at her own shadow sometimes stayed with the veteran who could snap at any moment and kill her.

"Look Flippy, I do love you. I love you very much. You mean the world to me. I know that's cliché, but it's true. In this town, you and I being together lends at least some sense of normalcy to me. So yes, I'm glad to be with you. Even with him, I'm still happy."

Flippy smiled and noticed Mime and Nutty get up and leave the restaurant. "Well, I guess that settles it."

Flaky smiled back, happy that that dreaded conversation ended. Maybe she wouldn't have to go through it again, go through the anxiety the discussion always caused her.

Toothy came over with their orders when Nutty's car backfired as he tried to start it. Toothy didn't stand a chance. Flippy growled as his eyes turned a sickening yellow and his teeth grew as sharp as a vampire's. He grabbed the steak knife Toothy brought over and thrust it into the beaver's throat. Petunia screamed as blood flowed over Flippy and Flaky's table. Flaky just stood as frozen as a store mannequin, stuck to her seat in shock and terror as she looked at her lover. He took the knife out of Toothy's throat and licked the blood off.

He grinned at Flaky and said in a dark, husky voice, "Do you love me? 'Cause I love you, oh, so very much."

Sorry if it's really short. I'm trying to write longer stories. Hopefully the next one will be longer and have more action. Anyway, please tell me if you like it!
