Hermione was quietly walking through the ruined corridors of Hogwarts. She was doing everything she could to keep herself away from the great hall. If she came within ten feet of the great hall and all of those dead bodies she knew she would completely break down and wouldn't be able to stop. She turned sharply as she heard approaching footsteps. She let out a deep breath when she saw that it was just Ron.

"There you are! I've been looking all over for you." He came to a halt when he reached her. Hermione just stared at him. "You wanna take a walk with me?"

"Sure."

She didn't really know where they were going. She was just following him. They walked in silence for a while until they reached the lake. She followed him as he sat down under a tree. They sat there just staring at the moon for at least ten minutes before Hermione got sick of the silence.

"Ron, why are you so quiet?" Hermione asked hesitantly.

"I just, um…what just happened. Before. When you kissed me." He explained. Before he could say anything more Hermione was violently sputtering phrases that he could barely understand.

"…I knew I shouldn't have done it. You don't like me. I'm such an idiot. I'm so sorry. I'll never talk to you again if that's what you want. I'm so so so sorry. I'm just gonna-"

Ron took her face in his hands and put a finger to her lips, telling her to stop talking.

"Hermione, you're not an idiot. Now, I'm going to kiss you because I like you and you're going to stop talking and kiss me back." He said as he pressed his lips to hers. They were immediately caught up in how great it felt to be able to kiss each other again and to know that they'd be alive to do it again and again and again for a very long time.
