This story is centred on Roy Harper and is written from mainly his point of view. In this story Oliver Queen is dead, he actually died in the battle against Ra's al Ghul in 3x09. I wrote this because in the show it is clear Oliver can't die because he makes the show what it is but I feel that this story represents the realistic outcome of the battle with Ra's and what would happen in Starling afterward with a bias towards Roy. The story starts from the beginning of the big street battle in 3x12 Uprising. The story will follow Roy as he steps up, fills his mentor's boots and becomes the city's main vigilante. The story will also cover Thea's journey to become Speedy as well and parts of Laurel's rise as Black Canary. The story will also features appearances from Flash and ATOM and maybe more DC characters. I will try to follow some of the storyline in the series and I will use aspects of the comics with Roy's Character and story as well as my own original writing. Hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer- I own nothing. All the characters are owned by the CW and DC Comics.

Chapter 1

All of his life Roy Harper was nothing, he was a petty criminal who didn't have any qualifications or a sheltered life. He always thought he would live in the Glades his whole life, no matter how long or short. He did what he had to do to survive. It all changed the moment he was saved by a vigilante in a green hood who was seen as a saviour in Starling City.

Now Roy was trying to become the saviour of Starling City, he stood firm in front of a massive crowd of city residents who were ready to fight till the death against Brick and his men. Brick had taken the Glades and was determined to keep it. The Glades wasn't much but it was where he had grown up and these people who Brick were causing pain to were people worth saving.

After he, Diggle, Felicity and Laurel found out Oliver's fate Roy became unsure whether this was his future but he had to remember that Roy didn't start doing this for Oliver but for the people in this city who are worth fighting for. He knew much of the future would depend on this upcoming fight.

This was an all-out full frontal assault on Brick and his crew, Roy was leading the attack and he was scared but he thought of his dead mentor and he knew that he had to do this for Oliver. When Oliver had continued training him after defeating Slade, Roy could tell that Oliver meant for him to replace him eventually if anything happened to Oliver. It was sooner than expected but Roy knew it was time to for him to step up.

When Brick shouted "GET EM!" Roy knew it was time, he quickly drew his bow and fired at one of the onrushing men, and he then moved forward and began to fight. Roy had to draw on both his training and his original street fighting style. Roy knew he was fighting men who he used to be able to tackle before he became Arsenal and got any type of training. Roy easily worked his way through the men using all his fighting skills to take at least 10 down.

He then spotted Brick beating up what appeared to be Ted Grant. Roy drew his bow and fired an arrow straight into Brick's chest. Brick looked in pain but he withdrew the arrow and walked away towards a side alley.

Roy was about to follow him but he was attacked by a two men. Roy kicked the one on the left to the floor then got an arrow from his quiver and stuck it in the side on the men on his right. Roy then stood in front of Laurel who was trying to nurse Ted Grant, he shot 3 men who were nearby, Oliver had taught to master shots which were aimed to wound not kill.

Roy then ran down the side alley where Brick had gone, he drew his bow in case, turned the corner to find Malcolm Merlyn on top of Brick with a gun pointed towards his head. Roy shouted "Merlyn don't shoot him."

Merlyn looked at Roy clearly in an emotional state "Mr Harper I don't think you understand. I need to take my vengeance. He deserves it."

"It won't bring back Rebecca." pleaded Roy.

Merlyn shouted "You think I don't know that! I've killed 506 people including my son, if I had finished this with him when it happened all of those years ago then none of that would have happened."

Roy then said "Malcolm there is no need to make it 507. You have caught him which will save hundreds of lives. If you had killed him all those years ago then Thea would not have been born. Think about Thea, she needs a father, if you continuing killing then she may never have the father she deserves."

Malcom looked at Roy, he had tears in his eyes. He then threw away the gun.

Roy was happy that Malcom had spared Brick, Oliver had taught Roy that justice is a completely different thing to killing. Roy chucked his handcuffs to Malcom and re-joined the street and noticed that the fight was won by his the residents of Starling.

Roy noticed a few of Brick's men running and started to fire arrows at their feet and managed to bring a couple down. Roy looked around and realised that the day was won and the city was safe. For now.

When the police and media arrived Roy decided it was time he formally stepped up as the city's only archer. Roy made sure his hood was fully on and he jumped up to the top of a police van, he was surprised to hear cheers when he stood up tall in front of the crowd.

He activated his voice changing device and said "This city once again faced peril and the citizens of Starling have once again risen up and fought for justice and peace. I'm sure the whole city are wondering where the 'Arrow' is. I'm sorry to say that he is gone. Forever. And he will be remembered. He gave up everything for this city and all the people in it. He is an example to us all. I cannot replace him but in his name I will ensure this city is still protected by an archer. I will not stop until this city is a safe place to live in. I will ensure that anyone who fails the city will be stopped." Roy drew his jettison arrow, he fired at a building and swung past all of the crowd, police and media, he left with cheers echoing around the centre of the Glades.
