Do not own. This is also an updated version of the original Shambles story. I hope that it flows better and is easier to read from now on.

Pausing in front of the imported fruit vendor's stand, Raidou began to pick up one of the apples to purchase when he froze suddenly then slowly placed it back down. Giving the confused man a tense smile, he turned to walk away only to come face to face with the last person he wanted: Genma. Staring at the familiar face, Raidou swallowed hard at the very sight of his ex-lover. "Genma-san." Ever polite, he nodded at the other man, dredging up a smile for him that felt brittle.

"Namiashi-san." Genma met his eyes squarely, ignoring Raidou's flinch at calling him by his last name, even as he stepped around the other man to purchase the apples he loved so much; the same ones that Raidou almost brought. Nodding his thanks to the vendor, he turned to walk off.

"Genma, wait."

"I didn't give you permission to be so familiar with me, Namiashi-san." Turning to face him, Genma's expression was closed off. "It's Shiranui-san to you. Now if you excuse me, I have somewhere to be."

"Please, let me..." Raidou pleaded with the younger man only to be cut off.

An angry expression filtered across Genma's face as he spat out. "I'm not the one who walked out on you. You were the one who said it was obvious I didn't love you and when I went to find you to talk, I find you fucking a woman!" For a second, sadness swarmed through his eyes before he clamped down on the emotion. "You made your choice, Raidou. I..loved..hell, who am I kidding? I still love you but what you did isn't something that I can forgive." The shorter man gazed at his former lover wistfully for a long moment than smiled at him. "I hope that you're happy." Turning on his heel, the brunette walked away without looking back.

Staring after Genma's retreating back, Raidou's throat closed up in despair, those last words more final then if Genma had said goodbye. Glancing on his shoulder, he slowly turned away, he gave the other man one last look before he, too, walked away.
