Love survives death into Eternity
Many years ago in a small fishing town of Domino, lived a young man named Yugi Mutou. Every day he would stand on the dock staring out to the horizon, waiting for a small fishing boat to return to shore.
Yugi was only 16 years old, but he didn't look 16. He was smaller than others of his age group; he had large amethyst eyes that shone with pure innocence and made him look like he was only 10 years old. He also had the most unusual hair ever seen; that seemed to deify gravity. It was a black, red and gold.
Just around mid-day is when the small boat Yugi had been waiting for would appear on the horizon. The boat was named 'Hikari Yami'; it was named by the young man whose father owned the boat. Atem worked hard on his father boat, but he was glad when they returned to land at mid-day, because he had someone very special waiting for him. He named the boat 'Hikari Yami' because of the relationship he was in, for Yugi was his hikari and he was Yugi's yami, soo it worked.
When Atem got back on shore, he would spend the rest of the day with his boyfriend. Atem was identical to Yugi; he was taller and was two years older. The only difference was his eyes were sharper and a deep crimson colour.
Four years pasted by happily for Yugi and Atem, and all too soon Atem asked Yugi to marry him, which Yugi agreed.
But three years after they married, tragedy struck. One faithful day, a terrible storm brewed up out that sea, and the 'Hikari Yami' struck the rocks and sank. News came in about the incident, the boat when down with all hands. Yugi refused to believe that Atem had drowned in Domino bay, even though it was true.
For four years Yugi still stood by the dock side, awaiting the return of his beloved Atem. But after soo many years of grieving, Yugi could no longer stand the heartache and drowned himself in the quay.
Many years after Yugi's suicide, his ghost had been seen standing at dock, on stormy nights waiting….waiting for the one he loved to returned. Many have tried to help him move on to the other side, but each time he had refused by saying 'He will come….I know he will come for me'.
It has been forty years since the tragedy of the 'Hikari Yami', and I still see Yugi standing at the dock, but he is not alone. For standing beside him was Atem, he had come to take Yugi to the other side. Yugi was crying, he was happy Atem had returned to him, I can hear them talking.
"My love….why did u not moved over to the other side? I've been waiting for you." Atem says, Yugi just looks at him with sad eyes "I didn't want to believe what they said….and I was afraid you would not love me anymore. Because of the vows we made, 'til death do you part.'" "My love, I always and still do believe in love surviving death into Eternity……now come" Atem said as he smiled and lead Yugi into the light and to the other side.
They are proof, that love really does survive death into Eternity.
