Chipper
People who know Peyton Sawyer at all know that this particular word usually doesn't even come close to describing her. Moody, snarky, and even bitchy have been used to describe the girl. But chipper? Never! And Peyton was perfectly ok with that.
But on this particular Friday night, chipper was the best description of Peyton. The reason for this extremely happy mood was none other than a date. Now sure Peyton had been on many dates during her seventeen years on this earth, but this was not just any date.
This was a date with someone she had believed she never stood a chance with. Someone who made butterflies the size of Boeing 737's flutter in her stomach with a mere smile in her direction. Someone who knew what she was feeling sometimes before she even did. Someone Peyton had loved for so very long. This date was with none other than B. Davis.
Brooke Davis had been plaguing Peyton's thoughts day and night for the past six months. Over time it had been harder and harder for Peyton to keep her feelings to herself, especially since Brooke had been spending almost every second at the Sawyer household after the demise of her relationship with Lucas. It had been on one of the nights that Brooke had invited herself over for a movie night that Peyton's resolve to hide her feelings for her best friend had crumbled.
During Bring It On, Peyton finally said what she had been dying to tell her friend. Well actually, Peyton had more or less shouted at Brooke that she loved her, and not just in "Hoes over Bros" way. Brooke's shocked expression and unusually silent demeanor almost sent the blonde into panic mode. But then that shocked expression turned into one of pure happiness. Brooke grasped her into a tight hug, and told Peyton, in a much more eloquent way, that she loved her too.
The date tonight was the ending result. So now as Peyton walks down her stairs to greet the beautiful brunette behind her front door, she contemplates her mood. Now P. Sawyer would never admit to anyone, but if going on a date with Brooke Davis means that she is chipper, then maybe chipper isn't so bad after all. In fact, chipper is downright perfect.
