I know this is really short and all, but it just randomly came to mind. I really have to explination about it, other then, it's the song's fault? Don't ask what song because there were about three. All sad of course. Hope you don't mind though. With all the saddness and all. Just in a sad mode.
Anyway, onto the story;
Sakura stood and watched as he walked away. After everything that they had been through and he could just walk away like that. She didn't understand what she had done wrong or was doing wrong. She wanted to be able to fix it so everything would go back to how it once was, but without knowing what to fix, she was unable. As much as she wanted to, she couldn't cry as she watched his back retreating.
Looking down at her hand, she saw what resembled their love. Their wedding rings. They'd gotten married four years ago and everything had been as great as she thought it would be, but better. She was in pure bliss the whole time.
"Do they mean nothing?!"
"I wish they did."
She was slightly confused by the response that she received. It wasn't something that she had expected to get from him. He was meant to say that they didn't mean anything. It was the only logical thing to say, but instead he wished that they didn't mean anything, which could only mean…
"Then stay!"
"I am unable, Sakura."
"Why?"
"The village is in danger and as their Kazakage; I must protect them, even with my own life."
"You're willing to die and leave me alone?"
"If I must, yes. It is my duty. Understand that."
"HOW CAN I UNDERSTAND THE FACT THAT I COULD POSSIBLY BE LOSING MY HUSBAND?!"
"You knew this could happen the day you married me Sakura. You knew that and yet you still married me. I understand it hurts. It's hurting me just as much. But this is something that I have to do. Just as you have to keep our children protected. At least understand that."
"Tell me you don't love me."
What Sakura said made him turn around and look at her with a raised eyebrow.
"What do you mean? I can't say that, because it would be a lie."
"If you are going to walk away to save that village and possibly lose your life and then tell me you don't love me."
"Because I'm going to save our people, you want to tell you that I don't love you? I refuse, because I do love you."
"Then please, don't go."
"I have to Sakura, but I promise, I will be back."
"I love you."
"As do I."
Sakura then watched as her husband turned and walked away. Away to go and save their village. As much as it hurt her to watch him walk away from her and their children, it hurt her more to know that he wouldn't come back alive.
