Prologue

In the eleventh century when strangers settled in our homeland the shaman Tokala predicted there would be born seven protectors of the tribe, each with gifts from the Great Spirit himself. That gift was bestowed on chief Pallaton and Soyala, who believed that their duty was to protect the ways, nature and culture of the tribe.

The tribe respected the siblings, while the outsiders knew of their powers as they knew of witches and werewolves. Some feared, other curious and many loathed their existence. But no one outside the tribe tried to get to know them; no one wanted to see them in a new light.

Soyala had left this plane to join the spirits after the birth of their youngest child Tala. Pallaton is known throughout the tribe as a mighty, wise, strong and caring leader. But to his children he is a loving father who only wish is to see them happy. Pallaton was infuriated when he learned that his people were getting hurt from the outsiders. But somewhat understood why, they were scared. A relented truce was made between the neighbours even some trades but either group trusted the other.

Katari was the eldest daughter of Pallaton. Known as a healer and wise beyond her years. Very compassionate about everything in nature. After her mother passed she took on much responsibility from preparing meals to healing the sick and injured of the tribe. She gave everything she had to her people until she had nothing left. But when she meets someone who found a way into her heart, she is forced to choose between love and her duty. Which does she choose?

Tiponya was the second eldest daughter of Pallaton. Born without her sight but because of her ability she was able to see through the earth. A natural hunter and tracker, nothing could hide. Gifted warrior in combat. When she goes hunting, she finds someone harmed does she help him ?

Every story has their hardships and this is no different. Chooses are made between love and family. Hearts are broken. Things threaten to tear this family apart. Betrayal, sorrow, war, death. Not everyone gets a fairy-tale ending will they have one?
