Confessions
Knuckles sat alone on the master emerald shrine again. When Rouge comes out.
"What do you want batgirl?" Knuckles asks harshly while standing up.
Without even a word Rouge walks past him and calmly sits onto the bottom step. Knuckles bewildered looks down at her and sees her eyes tearing up, so he sits down next to her.
"What's wrong?" he asks sounding more sympathetic. Rouge just turns her head away from him. Knuckles gets down off the step and moves over so he's in front of her on the ground. "Rouge" he asks again, same answer nothing. Now he's really confused one more try this has got to be good "I know it doesn't seem that way but you can tell me anything" nice he try's once more, this time Rouge moves her head so she's looking into Knuckle's eyes.
"Knuckle's…"Rouge starts " I have something to tell you"
"I'm listening" Knuckles says looking into her eyes.
Rouge sighs, "I don't how you're going to take this but…." She swallows hard "I think I love you Knuckles" Rouge turns her head away in shame.
Knuckles smiles and reaches his hand up cupping Rouge's chin in it and turning her to face him. "I love you too," he confesses before pressing his lips against hers. Rouge surprised at this but still very happy gladly kisses back, they hold it for a while then separate, both smiling.
"Knuckles…" Rouge says happily "I didn't think you felt this way"
"I know, we used to fight, but I always secretly wanted to tell you I just couldn't find the courage, until now" Knuckles tells her with a smile on his face.
"So, now does this mean we can like talk and stuff?" Rouge asks shyly.
"I would like it if we could do more then that, ya know maybe go out or something" Knuckles answers reassuring her.
"I'd love to be your girlfriend Knuckles" Rouge says bringing him into another kiss.
