"Twilight? Twilight Wake Up!"
Twilight yelped and jumped several hooves off her bed.
"Pinkie" she mumbled tiredly "How did you get into my house?"
"Simple Silly! I'm Pinkie!" Pinkie beamed.
"Well, uh... ok?" Twilight dragged herself upright "What do you want?"
"Rainbow Dash found something in the park and she really wants you to see it"
Twilight sighed "And you had to come and wake me at-" she looked at the old clock mounted on the far wall of her room "3 O'clock in the morning?"
"We didn't want it to disappear"
Twilight hopped out of her bed and looked Pinkie straight in the eye.
"Disappear? Twilight said "Why would it disappear?"
"It just looks like that kinda thing, ya know"
"No, not really"
"Well come on, we need to be quick in case it does" Pinkie Pie bounced out of the room faster than what she expected of Dash when she was on the ground. Twilight yawned, and followed reluctantly.
…...
"So what do you suppose it is?" Rainbow Dash asked.
The three ponies stared in unknowing silence at the glowing ball of light in front of them. It was still dark, and it's light cast creepy shadows across the ground. Finally, someone spoke up.
"If I had to guess" she said, attempting to be calm, though fear was clearly present in her voice "I's say it was some sort of portal"
"To where?" Pinkie asked excitedly "Is it to a party? I hope it's a party! Oh my God, it's a party isn't it-"
"I don't think so Pinkie" Dash cut in "Do you see any balloons?"
"That doesn't mean there's no party, silly!"
"I'm pretty sure it does"
"No it does no-"
"Do you two hear that?" Twilight asked.
"Sure, I hear Pinkie going on and on about a non-existent party"
"No, I'm serious. Just listen"
Sure enough, the portal was making a humming sound, which was growing steadily louder.
"Um... That doesn't sound safe to me" Dash said worriedly "Maybe we should mov-" she didn't get to finish her sentence, as the portal exploded into a brilliant whiteness, which blinded all three ponies.
Twilight stumbled around, unable to see where she was going. Suddenly she felt the ground get torn away from her. The humming noise grew louder and louder, until it was all she could hear.
Then... Nothing.
