Kyte wandered down the hallways; an intention in mind. She was searching for Elliot Nightray, a young man with a short temper that intimidated most people; most people but her. In fact, Kyte had thought Elliot as fascinating. He was different and hadn't acted like most people within the school. That's why she started hanging around him.
Kyte walked into the library; Elliot and Leo's normal haunt. She could almost always find them there. If they weren't, they were in the music room.
But as usual, they were sitting in the library; scanning through books.
Elliot was the first to look up at the sound of footsteps approaching. He grimaced, quickly recognizing the approaching female.
"What do you want now?" He groaned, lower his book slightly.
Leo looked up briefly, giving a soft smile in her direction before going back to his book. He had spent a brief time with Kyte. She wasn't a bad person; a little too eccentric at times. But she had good intentions. Leo knew he had no reason to worry about her.
She pointed dramatically at Elliot, one hand on her hip. A smirk was on her lips. "You're gonna teach me how to play the piano!" She proclaimed loudly.
"What, are you out of your friggin mind?"
"Huh?"
"It takes years to learn how to play. You'll never be able to do it." Elliot replied, turning his attention back to his book. He flipped a page, trying to ignore Kyte. He hadn't noticed Kyte stomp up to him. She snatched the book out of his hands before he could react.
"What the hell are you doing!" He shouted.
She glared at him, holding the book at bay. "You're gonna teach me. I won't take no for an answer!"
"NO!" He shouted back.
"Just do it Elliot. It's rude to deny someone who's willing to learn." Leo chastises him.
Elliot snorted, calming down slightly. There was no point in arguing with Leo. He often attempted to steer him in the right direction. If Elliot didn't do what he said; he'd hear about it later.
"Fine;" Elliot finally gave in. "But I'm gonna work you until you're fingers fall off."
Kyte smiled brightly at his words. "Great! We'll start tomorrow!"
~*~Months Later~*~
Elliot found that Kyte refused to give up on playing the piano. In fact, even when he shouted or yelled at her about mistakes, she just kept going. She'd often yell back but she'd attempt to get the keys right after his shouting.
"No! You've got it wrong again!" Elliot shouted at Kyte.
She huffed, stopping for a moment to look at him. "Shut up! I can do this! If you quit yelling, I wouldn't have a problem!"
"Prove it!" Elliot shouted back.
Kyte turned back to the piano, huffing as she did. She attempted the practice again, this time; getting it better than before. It had surprised Elliot. He had soon found out that scolding her made her do better. It was odd logic, but he hadn't argued with it. He just went with it and hoped that it would keep working.
Elliot sighed, leaning back. Kyte smirked at him, her hands still on the keys as 'Lacie' faded away. Elliot had been shocked at how she had learned. He hadn't expected her to learn at all but she'd somehow managed to impress him.
"Ha, told you I could do it." She taunted.
"Shut up." Elliot scoffed. He had his pride; he wasn't going to show how impressed he was with her.
"Well, I suppose I should thank you." She commented.
Elliot turned quickly, about to ask what she meant. His words were cut off when her lips met his. It was a brief kiss and it ended as quickly as it had happened.
Elliot's face flushed red as he fell off the bench he was sitting at. Kyte had laughed and skipped away; not giving him a chance to yell at her.
It wasn't like he could anyway. He had been too shocked to even try and speak.
