Hi! I'm Bean-Dumbledore, and I just wanted to send a message out there to whoever is going to read my story.

- I'm sorry to displease you, but this story doesn't have Percy Jackson in it. I made up the whole story and I'm just putting it under Percy Jackson because it's a little similar and I really want some feed back from people on it.

Thank you for reading my story and I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 1

"What are you doing?" Anna Frable asked, as she stepped outside and closed the house door behind her. Laura Frable was laying in the grass of the backyard, looking up at the drifting clouds in the sky. Colorful leaves danced around her head and raced across the yard.

"I don't know," Laura replied. "Just thinking I guess. Plus, it's a beautiful day. Who wouldn't want to be outside?"

Laura was right. It was a crisp autumn afternoon and the sun was shining high in the sky. It's warm rays of beaming sunlight gave Anna a tingling rush of warmth as she sat down and laid herself down beside her sister.

"I just love this time of year." sighed Laura. "It makes me feel alive and fresh, like I could tackle anything in the world. I feel like I can finally be myself." She paused and gazed at a flock of geese flying through the sky, honking their rhythmic calls, and then continued. "It just feels like autumn is telling you to take the time to cherish the things you love most, and to not stress about things, because life goes on. It's just like the trees in fall. They let go of their leaves to endure the frigid winter, then get right back up in the spring. Do you ever have those kinds of thoughts?"

"Ummm . . . sort of. I guess I just really haven't looked at autumn that way." Anna admitted. "It's a beautiful season, but it seems sad, like the Earth is performing it's final show of natural beauty before it says goodbye and dies, but I do enjoy spring. I love it because it feels like a fresh beginning for changes to start. It's also full of life. The brown, dead grass turns green, and flowers start to bloom. It's the end of winter's nasty grasp on the Earth, and where we can once more feel the warmth of the sun. " Anna explained dreamily. She sighed sadly. "Just talking about it makes me wish spring was here now."

"Don't you ever think that these thoughts mean something? I mean, something important?" Laura asked hopefully. "I look forward to fall every year and just have the strongest feelings I have ever felt before during this season. It feels as if it's a part of me. Isn't that strange and . . . I don't know . . . something that we should explore?"

"I don't know. I can't really say if it's something strange, or just something that everyone feels towards their favorite season." Anna replied. "Come on. Let's go back inside. Mom wants us to finish our chores."

"Okay." Laura whispered sadly, as she got up and followed her sister inside.

Laura and Anna lived in a small house that sat at the end of Pine Lane near the Evergreen woods. It was a rather peaceful place to settle down and live. The street had a nice neighborhood and wasn't at all that busy. The girls' family hated the busy city, so Pine Lane was perfect.

"Who wants to do the dishes?" Mrs. Frable teased, as the two girls walked into the house. Both of the girl's eyes widened and they both pointed at each other.

"Anna should do them! I did them last time! " Laura said quickly.

"Well, I did them the three days before that!" Anna shot back. Their mom just laughed.

"It's okay. Your dad did them already." The girls sighed with relief. Ever since their dishwasher had broken, they had dreaded the boring task of hand washing them for an hour until they were all clean.

"What needs to get done then?" Anna asked, grateful to do anything other than the dishes.

"Well, I was thinking we could go on a little bike ride together on the path that goes through the Evergreen Woods, and then stop and have a late picnic lunch. Chores can wait. Besides, I think we cleaned the house enough this morning."

The girls both smiled with eagerness. They hadn't gone on a picnic since Laura was probably 8 years old, and not to mention bike rides were the best! It was just the wonderful feeling that one felt when riding, that just made your heart race. The power you felt in your legs as you propelled yourself forward, the wind whipping your hair, the sweet smell of the air engulfing you, and the freedom of it all empowered the girls out the door to their bikes within seconds. Their mom and dad followed behind 15 minutes later with all their lunches packed in a small cooler, and a large blanket to sit on while they ate. Mr. Frable strapped it to the back of his bike and then they were off.

"The leaves are beautiful this time of year." Mrs. Frable murmured, gazing up at the tree tops above.

They had biked for 2 hours on the trail, not wanting to halt until they were too hungry to continue. They had set up their picnic at a place on the trail where the trees to either side of the path seemed to hover over them, creating a vast, shady tunnel. Here and there, tiny beams of sunlight managed to penetrate the thick canopy, giving the illusion that the golden beams were dancing with the shadowy darkness within. Birds twittered with delight as they roosted in the branches of trees nearby, and deer could be seen poking through the brush for food. The creek beside them gurgled as the water flowed over its rocky bottom, and the woods emanated an air of peace.

"Next weekend we should do some fishing here before it starts getting too cold." Mr Frable said, as he too gazed around at the trees and the creek. "It would be a lot of fun."

"That would be awesome Dad!" Laura answered, excited for the weekend already.

Her dad was a hard working man who would go to work from 8:00am to 5:30pm every weekday, and then start on dinner while Anna and Laura did their homework. After they would eat dinner, the two girls would finish their homework, while their dad would go on his laptop to work on business that he had not finished at his job, clean the house, help the girls with their homework, or work on any house projects that needed to get done. Her mom was also very hard working, and didn't even get home from work until about 9:00pm. This is why Anna and Laura often craved for the weekends to come so they could have some family time with their parents. On the weekends, both of their parents were off of work and they would clean the house, get groceries for the following week, get all the chores done, and then spend their time together doing something fun. For example, sometimes they would watch a movie, play a board game, go on a hike, bike, or go to the park to play volleyball or softball.

"Are we going to keep riding on the trail, or are we just going to ride back home the way we came?" Anna asked curiously as she finished the lunch they had packed of BLT sandwiches, grapes, watermelon, broccoli, carrots, and refreshing lemonade.

"We should probably head home." answered Mrs. Frable, as she started to pack the leftover food back up into the cooler. "It's going to take about 2 hours to get back home and so if we hurry back now, it'll be about 4:30pm, and your daddy and I have to start on supper."

"Okay. Sounds good to me."

As soon as they finished packing up, they got back on their bikes and rode home happily. Laura had never felt so alive and Anna had never felt so glad to be with the people that she loved most in her life.
