Friendship
An: This is a one shot of how amazing Mulder and Scully's friendship is. This is dedicated to my best friend Jessica. We love watching and talking about X-Files together. We even dressed up like Mulder and Scully one year for Halloween together. Love ya, girl!
Scully stepped out of the elevator heading to apartment number 42 with a bag of goodies in her hand. She was dressed in casual clothes. She was coming over to work, so why not?
In her bag of goodies, she had boxes of Redvines, Rolos, and other gummy candy.
It was movie night.
She usually ate healthy food, like salads, but on these nights, she forgot all of that and just went crazy. Candy was a necessity on movie night. It made her feel like a kid again.
They had movie nights a frequent thing that they did every Friday. Of course, except when they had a case. She bought the snacks, he picked out the movie, when it was at his place. When it was at hers, it was reversed. Because Scully always picked chick flicks, Mulder always tried to make it at his place.
These were the nights where she really appreciated their friendship. They didn't have to be the two FBI agents they were 90 percent of the time. They were just friends hanging out having a good time.
She came up to the door that had the familiar number 42 on it and knocked. She had her key he gave her years but she liked knocking. Mulder opened the door with a smile.
"Scully! Come on in. I got a great movie for us. Oh and a little surprise." He sadi this as he started walking back towards the kitchen. In there he had two gallon buckets of ice cream sitting on the counter.
"Mulder did you invite more people?" She was kinda hurt, this was their night. Or at least she thought.
"No, Scully, why?" She felt better.
"Well who the hell is going to eat all of that ice cream?"
"That's my surprise! It's for us! It was on sale. I got a gallon of coffee for you, and a gallon of Rocky Road for me!" He said with the goofiest smile ever on his face. He was proud.
She couldn't help but smile back. His smile was infectious. She was touched that he remembered her favorite ice cream.
"Mulder, we are both going to gain 50 pounds if we ate that much ice cream." She was all up for splurging on movie night but this was a little over board.
"Oh well of course you are not going to eat all of this tonight! Just eat what you want and we'll have it for the next movie night."
"Ok, sounds good."
They grabbed all of their treats sat down on the couch ready for a night of fun. Mulder always picked crazy movies. Stuff they could joke and laugh at. It was their greatest fun. The one he had picked tonight was particularly mock worthy. They cracked jokes all night about the actors, props, and lame special effects.
Scully was stuffed from all the sweets she had just consumed. Her head was feeling heavy. Mulder pulled her close to him and put her head on his shoulder, seeing she was tired.
Scully sighed at how relaxed she felt. She was always comfortable in his arms. She fit so well with him and he was warm. With his hand that he had wrapped around her shoulder he started rubbing her arm. She relaxed more into him. He leaned down kissed the top of her head. She smiled and closed her eyes.
Their friendship was special. They had a connection that was undeniable. They could read each other's minds and know what the other is thinking with just one look. They knew everything about each other. Scully had never had someone like Mulder in her life. He made things special. A simple touch on her arm like he was doing now, was so much more than it seems. It was a touch of comfort. It was a message saying that it was ok to relax with him. That she was safe with him. And she was.
