Chapter 3: Shikamaru the gentleman?
(Temari)
After the long day of work I had yesterday I woke up refreshed. I opened my eyes and had no idea where I was. I looked to my left and see a shirtless Shikamaru. He was getting a shirt and I could tell he was trying to not make much noise. He turned around and said, "Oh your up, did you sleep well?" I was confused; the Shikamaru I knew wouldn't ask such a question.
"Um where am I?" He said "Well last night at the waterfall we talked for a little and then you laid down for a little bit and next thing I knew you dozed off. I didn't want to be rude and wake you up so I carried you to my house and laid you in my bed." I blushed at the fact that Shikamaru was such a gentleman. "So you mean to tell me I was out the whole time. I must have really been in a deep sleep."
"Well ill let you get dressed we have a lot of preparations to do again" he said and left the room. I sat up still in amazement. I was still surprised that Shikamaru went through all that trouble. Not only that I slept in Shikamarus bed. Suddenly my face got really warm. I was bright red blushing! Was it because I was thinking of Shikamaru? Was I really starting to yearn for him?

Hm she was a typical girl taking a long time to get dressed. Soon she walked out of the room, but in something a little different than normal. She wore a deep purple dress with fishnet under and a dark red ribbon around her waist. She didn't put all her ponytails up though. She only put the top two and left the bottom part down. To be honest I couldn't take my eyes off her. "Hey Shika pick up you jaw and eat your breakfast" my father said.
After we finished eating Temari headed outside and my mother pulled me aside. "Yea mom?" "Don't let her go. You got a wonderful girl their, don't let her go," she said. Those words stuck in my head the rest of the day.
Only a few hours passed and we were just about done with the paperwork. "Wow we are already done. Guess I may go home sooner than I thought," Temari said. I wasn't too happy of that Idea. I knew today may be my last day to tell Temari how I feel. "Hey Shika" "Oh hi dad what's up."
My dad pulled me aside. "So it's me and your moms anniversary, next week, but the only time I can get off is today and tomorrow. So were going to be out of town." "So watch the house right?" I said. He nodded and started to walk off. He stopped and said," oh here be careful" and threw me a small box. I said goodbye and looked at the small box. "Really dad" I said to myself.

I wasn't really ready to go home. I mean I still haven't told Shikamaru how I felt. If I didn't do it by tonight I would have no reason to stay tomorrow. Shikamaru came back with an odd look on his face. "What did your dad talk to you about?" "He will be gone with my mom out of town for the next 2 days." In my mind I thought yes! I will have time alone with Shikamaru. It was perfect time to tell him how I feel.
We had headed to the Hokages office to inform her of our competence. She was pleased and we started walking back to Shikamarus house. When we were walking, Shikamarus hand brushed against mine and I almost wanted to grab it.

We got to my house and I was nervous that we were by ourselves. She got comfortable on the couch and I sat close to her. Her eyes widened on how close I sat next to her. I laid my hand on top of hers. It was now or never.
