Overshadowing of the Twilight
A Twilight fanfic
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The forest breathes a sigh of relief. The winds change and blow towards the darkening sky. Their gone. With their absence the forest breathes again. Vampires.
Their lives a curse, their presence a mere illusion towards that of which could be something mortal.
To be immortal.
A curse? Or something much greater than that.
A biological advancement.
Or God's failed attempt at something greater than to be human.
To err is human.
To last is Vampire.

Chapter One
Bella's arms extend to the grey expance of sky, a silent tribute to the unknown. The rain cascade down her face, making rivets of her makeup. Hiding her tears. Her voice had long ago gone hoarse with her racking sobs. The unknown could tell from the desparate pleas her body and mind gave. It gave her the rain in return for her anguish.
Edward.
Her prayer.
Her soul.
Her.
He left her with a broken soul and heart. Torn in two for what could have been, and never will again.
Left her under the green canopy of trees in the forest.
He exits, the Forest sighs.
But still she stays, hidden away from the world, to early to accept, wounds raw with bitter emotion.
The hours pass.
When she is later pulled from the forest her mind is still wracked in shock and disbelief.
He left her forever.
Never again would she witness his piercing gaze, or feel the cool expanse of his body brush hers.
This cannot be happening.
The dead numbness coats her body and mind, icing over her heart.
As dawn cracked the next morning, breaking its luminous light over the treetops. Bella was putting on her worn sneakers. She stumbled to the car, brushing the dust from her eyes. Her heart was beating hard though. This was her last chance to change her forever.
She sped down the empty roads as fast as her truck could handle, and turned down the familiar turn point that marked the Cullen's property. She pulled up into the driveway and stared at the home. It was still beautiful, oh yes, but it looked like it had aged dramatically, with its windows boarded up. It carried an eerie stature about it, making Bella take a subconscious step back when she got out of her car.
She circled the house, and found all the windows messily boarded up with planks of plywood. Frustrated, she sat down underneath a tree beside the house and rested her head against it. Her entire infrastructure of her life was shaking down, suffocating her.
She got up on shaking legs, afraid that she would start crying again, after already been crying all night, leaving her throat raw, and she looked down and noticed scattered pieces of paper that appeared to be ripped apart. She bent down, unsure of what it would be, and no sound could come to her mouth when she saw the papers. The scattered piece fluttered to the ground silently, and one would perhaps be able to get a glimpse of the title labeled "Bella's Lullaby" as they danced to the ground
This cannot be happening.
