From a distance: A Blue Marble, A Pale Blue Dot..

Here we are. Looking down a planet. A planet we call home. A planet where we live, we die, we love, we fight. Yes, we are here. Far above of atmosphere of the planet.
Despite of all odds, the planet is here as if nothing's wrong, under our eyes. Nothing's wrong? No. Just we cannot see that, from a distance. Yes, from a distance. It is here, as if nothing's important. Every greed, every ambition, and everything we concern, becomes nothing, as if. Even at this time, facing a threat from outer space.

I looked at the planet again. A blue marble orb, I thought. The planet looks like that. Like what I play with in my childhood. Maybe we are a dust on that orb. Or much tinier than that. Funny, isn't it? What if we see it from farther distance? Will it look like this? Maybe not. We won't see anything, other than a dot. A dot that glows faint, pale blue, perhaps. Our presence won't be recognized there. Such a tiny, tiny world.. But still, it's our home, a home where we live, where we fight for.

I wish I could have more time to look, and think. But we must go back.

The pod started to enter the atmosphere. Time to return home.
